5th-Sep-2008 10:37 pm - first night volunteering at the theatre
i was just working front house, since it was a free concert given by the 76th band. it was fun. i got to speak to the director about what exactly i want to do. (make up and scenery) he is so for me doing that.
everyone there is so nice. i think i will be busy and have fun at the same time. the joke of the evening was....they will get me on stage...so yeah have a feeling that will happen.

my first big project will most likely be Thoroughly Modern Millie - so will be doing my style research in the next months.

i am excited!

i am tired, my feet are killing me...but totally worth it.
5th-Sep-2008 11:29 am - Out! Out with the stupid!
The company that I work for is an emergency notification firm. We provide our customers with a few different services, but the flagship product (and the primary reason our customers come to us) is our instantaneous alerting application. It sends mass communication simultaneously to any number of people on up to 10 different devices (phones, texting, pagers, e-mail, etc.).

Customers are allowed to call in to have us initiate an alert if they aren't able to access the web interface. We had a gentleman from a very well-known fast food restaurant chain call in late last night to send out an alert regarding RNC protesters near one of their franchise locations in St. Paul, MN. Whoever took his call last night needs to be publicly flogged. This same dude from the fast food chain called in today and got me on the phone...and he warily insisted that I use spell check and read everything back to him multiple times before sending the alert. It was irritating...until I found out why he was doing it.

He was having me re-send the same message he had sent last night because it wasn't understood.

The following is what was originally sent last night, followed by my revision. )

4th-Sep-2008 09:59 am - hi, I'm somewhat alive.
Correcting a hormonal disorder is rough. I have to take provera to start it all off before I can begin the other medicines that I've needed but haven't had access to in a few years. Provera is made of pure hellfire. I'd swear on it.

I am so easily offended, easily upset, easily confused, easily defensive. I am desperately over-aware of my body and its flaws but I have no energy or discipline to help fix them right now. I get really, really fatigued even with good sleep.

I haven't felt like getting online much outside of work (which means that I have been neglecting my LJ again, sorry), nor like doing much else.

I feel random and suspicious and wacky and gloomy all at once.

And I miss being in the thick of hurricane season. I really do.

Ok I think my brother may just win for the coolest wedding location. I am posting right now from the Reebox luxury box directly about 3rd base. I mean I haven't been a major Red Sox fan in years but this is Cool!

3rd-Sep-2008 05:50 pm - new phone, lost numbers now collection service is up

if i had your number are you are aware that i had you number please send it back to me- comments are screen so only i will see your digits. thanks in advance.
3rd-Sep-2008 01:44 pm - my fubar of the day
so stupid me had my phone in the bathroom as i was taking a bath this morning. it was on a towel near the edge of the bathtub. well...said towel decided to take a swim with my cell phone. i did not catch my phone in the tub until it was far to late- it had been emerged at least a minute before i noticed. so i took the phone apart and tried to dry it out...towel, blow dryer and prayers. the phone decided to give me a pffffffffffffff sizzle sound. yep- i fried my phone.

so after hearing said noise, i took out my sims card in prayers that i did not fry it also. called ski told him what happen and said i am going to look for a new phone.

i went down to get a new phone, i knew my contract was about to end on my other phone. so i thought well, i will pay off the other phone and just get a new contract phone. however, in order to get a new contract, they were in need of my hubby's orders stating we are going to be here another 2 years. well, umm we have yearly orders- so that was not going to work. so i would have to pay full price for my phone. however i did not want to get some cheap phone that i would not be happy with come when we move to the states. i was thinking about getting an iphone in the states or a blackberry pearl. so what did i get?

blackberry pearl- it was bloody expensive to buy without contract. oh and in order to use the extra features that the blackberry offers i still would have to do a contract here- that is not going to happen. however i only want those features once we get to the states- it will be cheaper.

From misc2008

yes, that is the price in euro and dollars...the exchange rate so sucks

2nd-Sep-2008 04:47 pm - Kindergarten
So Emma, unsurprisingly, had a blast today at her first day. She was already being a social butterfly when we were standing outside waiting for her teachers to take the kids inside. She was rarely at my side. Definitely not a shy one!

It was a shortened day where I dropped her off at 9am and picked her up at 2pm. She had class today with half of her classmates, the other half go tomorrow and on Thursday everyone will be there and take the bus for the first time. She knows 1 boy from soccer and 1 other boy who is our neighbor.

After pick up today I let her know that open, unfinished juice boxes should go in the trash rather than back in her lunchbox. ;) Other than that everything went off without a hitch!

Now off to meet my brothers soon to be in-laws.

2nd-Sep-2008 09:56 pm - dropped INR again
so my INR was at 1.8 compared to the 1.71 that is was end of last week. which means back to injections, this time all this week. my coumadin god also uped my dose to 5mg daily-hopefully this pushes up my INR. next test is on friday morning.
it appears i am going to have to switch sides on my belly, from this past weekend and today's injection. i am bruising pretty black.

i am proud of myself that i am doing the injections without a whince, however i am slightly flustered that my level did not go up that much. IDK what the deal is. i know taking these types of meds are very complicated.

oh for those who are wondering what i am speaking about when i speak about INRs

here is the information on what it is: INR/PT wiki

31st-Aug-2008 10:00 pm - Sturbridge Village
We had a very nice trip to Old Sturbridge Village today. Weather was perfect and the price could not have been better. I though we might go on Saturday so I checked the website Friday night and saw that today was WGBH family day! I had Q dig out the membership card and SCORE it does not expire until October so admission for all of us today was FREE! Plus Emma got to meet Word Girl so that was another win. There is a Sunday Brunch in the restaurant from 10-2 and kids under 6 eat for free so even lunch was a bargain. The parking lot was almost full when we got there but the place was far from packed.

I think that Emma was just the right age for this since there were a whole lot of hands on stuff to do as well as many crafts that she was able to do. I think that her favorite part was probably the play ground but it was not that hard to convince her to leave there and explore other areas. There are a few things not included in the admission cost like the boat trip and the stage coach ride which were $5 per person. We went on the boat ride but skipped the stage coach to avoid a complete sneezing fit by Q.

So overall I would definitely recommend a visit as a low-key family friendly excursion with a history lesson thrown in.

30th-Aug-2008 11:40 pm - CLEANING OUT CLOSETS- thinking it is sale time
so, i have some clothes that are either new or near new- some with wear. normally i just give to friends to pick thru- however don't have friends that are that size anymore ( sizes L/XL- 12-14-16). so offering thinking about letting my LJ friends have a pick at them- before hauling them off to "goodwill"
basically would want shipping and handling and sell them for $2 - $5 a piece. would anyone be interested? i will have some skirts and tops- brand names like DKNY. i am also thinking about weeding out my purse and shoe collection- yes you heard me- shoes. those of course would go for a little more. i have a few designer purses i am not using anymore and thinking about getting rid of. if anyone is seriously interested please let me know- because if i get enough people interested i will post pics and stuff online.
money will go towards my christmas funds to see my kids so not really out to make a buck- just make some extra cash. thanks in advance.

Roxy apparently thinks she is a gardener, and ate raw chives out of the garden at her grandma's place. She also managed to snatch a garlic clove I dropped and gnawed that too. Pugs with bad breath are a problem for me as of late. :)

Today was Emma's last day of daycare! She starts kindergarten on Tuesday!!! We will now be reclaiming 3/4 of the daycare money for other pursuits, the remaining 1/4 will be used to pay for her after school program - best bargain ever.

How in the world did she get to be old enough for kindergarten?

29th-Aug-2008 05:39 pm - LOVENOX time
my INR dropped to 1.71- so have to do injections tonight and tomorrow. my coumadin "god" aka rose at the coumadin clinic told me they think the german meds are finally out of my system, hence most likely the drop.

i am waiting for ski to get home so he can see how it is done via human and not dog.

i hate my life right now.
